This gage nest is used to measure position in three dimensions or spindle errors of machining centers. Can be expanded to a five gage nest (angular errors) with two more clamps.

This is a metrology frame created by students at the 2014 ASPE metrology competition. The frame holes a Lion Precision capacitance gage to measure the vertical displacement of a PI translation stage.
